What is a Web Host?

A Web host is a service provider that places your website on a big computer that "serves up" web pages. It's connected to the Internet 24-7. You purchase storage space on their server to make your website available through the Internet. Most ISP's provide this service, but at higher prices, and slower loading speeds. You may sign up with any web hosting company at any time. Or, if you need assistance setting up hosting service with your preferred host or would like some suggestions on who to go through, Stage 38 will provide a set-up service, free of charge.

This set-up would include the necessary configuration of the hosting account, creation of e-mail accounts, necessary technical assistance and access to server logs and web-based e-mail if desired.
