Content Layout
What is a Web Site Layout?
Layout refers to where you place your navigation structure, photos and blocks of text. Most Internet users expect the navigation either at the left or across the top. You may want a "bread crumb trail" which is a backtrack of the pages visited (note the one at the end of this page).
Layout Choices
- Navigation at left, content on right.
- Navigation on top, content at bottom.
- Navigation at top and left, content on bottom-right.
- Navigation at right, content at left.
Important elements like contact information, recent content, the navigation menu, a search function and the login area should be prominent.
Navigation should be easy to find and use so that your customers will have a pleasant experience with your website. Don't let them get frustrated trying to find the information they need.
